The spring 2021 Miu Miu fashion show was teeming with various iterations of tracksuit pieces and it provided inspiration for this outfit. The neat thing about how I've styled this look is that if you remove the sporty jacket you'll be ready for a day at the office.
Give this trick a try by popping a track jacket on over a business look to instantly transform it from work mode to going for after work drinks or dinner out with friends. The casual athletic jacket creates a stronger juxtaposition with the dressy slacks and polo shirt (and is much more unexpected) than when paired with your typical jean jacket. Next time you reflexively reach for your denim jacket, give a track jacket a try instead for a fresh take on high-low dressing.

Why not make your own tracksuit by pairing matching athletic pieces? Here I've paired preloved Adidas tracksuit shorts with a vintage Pony track jacket. It was a real thrifting miracle that the coloring of each item is so identical that they combine to make the perfect tracksuit.
To give your tracksuit an unexpected twist, use a dressy blouse to break up the sporty vibe. I've chosen a floral version for this look in colors that mesh well with the tracksuit but you can also go with solid or neutral tones.
Color-blocked trekking sandals from Teva worn with socks, bike shorts, and a '90s style nylon purse earn this look a stamp of approval for fashion week.
